Even More

This month is full of national holidays and observances, from Cinco de Mayo and Mother's Day to Armed Forces Day and Memorial Day.  With these special holidays during which honor our past and present military forces, we think it is a great time to take another look at how your activities in the Dream Machine Recycle Rally support the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities, also known as EBV.  As a refresher, because the Dream Machine Recycle Rally is an extension of the larger Dream Machine Recycling Initiative®, the EBV is the designated charitable recipient for this program.

As some of you may already know, the EBV offers revolutionary, practical training in entrepreneurship and small business management to post-9/11 veterans with disabilities resulting from their service to our country. It's an organization that's designed to open the door to business ownership for our veterans by 1) developing their skills in the many steps and activities associated with launching and growing a small business, and by 2) helping them to leverage programs and services for veterans and people with disabilities in a way that furthers their entrepreneurial dreams.

So what does that mean to the Recycle Rally community?  It means that your recycling helps PepsiCo to support of the EBV program. The more bottles and cans recycled through the Dream Machine Recycle Rally and the Dream Machine Recycling Initiative, the more support PepsiCo provides to the EBV, a national program offering free, experiential training in entrepreneurship and small business management to post-9/11 veterans with disabilities so that our nation's heroes can make their own dreams come true.

In real world terms, that means that your recycling has contributed to the latest annual donation which was presented to the EBV on March 6th, 2013.  This latest donation marked a cumulative $1.5 million contribution from PepsiCo to the EBV since 2010 – wow!

The Dream Machine Recycle Rally team would like to thank the entire recycling community for its participation and continued support of our veterans.

Summer Break

Before we end this month's Rally Reader edition and as you all look ahead to summer, we wanted to give you a quick reminder. As some of you may remember from participating in last year's program, the recycling hauling service at many schools will be paused during the summertime for the Recycle Rally's summer break. Stay tuned for more details about this in the coming weeks, and if you have any questions or concerns about the fact that your collections may not be picked-up over the summer, please contact RecycleRally@pepsico.com.
