A Closer Look

Hello to all of our Dream Machine Recycle Rally^® participants and welcome to the May 2013 issue of the Rally Reader Newsletter.  Although for many of you the school year continues until summer, a big day for the Recycle Rally, April 30th, has come and gone. Yes, it's true! April 30th was the official end of the 2012/2013 Dream Machine Recycle Rally school year contest, and what a great contest it was. We could tell by the Leaderboard that the plastic bottles and aluminum cans were flying (into your recycling bins that is) throughout the contest and right up until the very end. A big thanks to all of you for your hard work and commitment to recycling this year!

Our contest may be behind us, but we know that your enthusiasm for recycling does not rest! With that, in this issue we’re excited to visit the Old Line State of Maryland to introduce you to Panorama Elementary School, which is one of many schools from the Prince George's County School District that is participating in the Dream Machine Recycle Rally.  Stay tuned, there is more information to follow on Panorama Elementary in the School Spotlight section of this edition.

And don't forget, springtime for the Recycle Rally is contest prize season, and a great time to take a look back at your school's accomplishments in the program this year and give yourselves a big pat on the back. Later in the issue, we will give you quick reminder about the prizes that were at stake in this year's contest to help you get ready for the big announcement next month: when we unveil the full line-up of 2012/2013 Recycle Rally contest winners! Be sure to check out Recognizing "Greenness" for a quick reminder of the contest breakdown.

Last, but certainly not least, with summer almost here, we did want to remind you about the upcoming Recycle Rally summer break. As some of you may remember from participating in last year's program, the recycling hauling service at many schools will be paused during the summertime for the Recycle Rally's summer break. Check out "Even More" for a reminder and stay tuned for more details from us on this in the coming weeks!
